I know what capacitors are, beyond that I'm a steadfast learner. I thought that resistors had two knobby ends and color bands, this one looks like a diode to me, as the diodes next to it appear to be the same shape, however there is no obvious cathode/anode on this one, so if you say it's a resistor I will go with that. Rod90, I was thinking it was a diode because of the shape and color of it. Can anyone help me out and tell me what is the specific name for it? I would greatly appreciate it (and any other wisdome you can dispense related to this board/claw issue)! I searched mouser and the Web for a 19ohm (brown, white, black, silver) diode, but don't see anything like this, probably because it has a proper name I don't know. It's so crispy I can rub the color bands off if I wipe my finger on them. I pull the pcb board out, and see this crispy diode. I check the coil, got 157ohms which I believe is fine from some other research I did. I get down to the machine, and the claw is stuck in the down position, and boy is it piping hot! I wait a day, plug it in, and the pulleys just go up and down to pull the string, but it isn't pulling it up, just knocking back and forth. One of my kids gets my attention, and says it is acting up, and won't work.
Some friends brought their kids over, and they of course gravitated to my claw machine.
